Financial Analyst Opening Available

This position is responsible for financial statement analysis, development of periodic financial forecasts, annual strategic and financial plan support, ad hoc financial and operational analyses of current and potential products and business processes, and other special projects as assigned, to facilitate development and achievement of financial and operating objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

1. Analyzes monthly financial statements, prepares revenue analyses to identify the drivers of financial performance and proposes potential solutions. Evaluates and prioritizes financial and operational viability and attractiveness of solutions proposed by self and others.

2. Coordinates the processing and analysis of periodic financial forecasts and projections, as well as annual strategic and financial plans.

3. Completes effectiveness reviews of current practices and/or feasibility reviews of proposed business operating plans to ensure the most efficient functioning of all areas of the company.

4. Possesses a high degree of analytical ability in order to prepare analyses and develop new reports/formats.

5. Reviews and prepares analyses of potential capital investments or new business ventures to evaluate adequacy of supporting business case. Reports on actual investment or initiative results after implementation and compares to original project plan. Monitors the capital budget to insure funds are spent as intended.

6. Ability to work in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment is a necessity, as is an appreciation of the relative role of assigned discipline to the total enterprise. Ability to prioritize assigned tasks, to manage expectations and deliverable deadlines of finance and assigned functional executives, and to obtain support for flawless task execution as required are essential.

7. Utilizes good communication and presentation skills oral and written.

8. Develops business partner relationship functionality with leaders of assigned area of responsibility. Develops recognition as an expert in financial matters for the assigned function.

9. Begins to develop leadership and management skills by leading finance or cross-functional limited duration and/or scope project teams as assigned.

10. Performs related duties as assigned which may not be specifically listed in the job description, but which are within the general occupational series and responsibility level associated with the incumbent?s class of work.

Marginal Functions -

1. Trains departmental planners on how to complete financial planning requests and how to submit projection/ budget information using current financial systems.
2. Presents annual plan process within assigned area, and functions as a resource for area?s planners on the criteria for the current processes.
3. Assists in organization development by preparing for succession in current assignment.
